Getting to Koh Lanta

From Phuket or Bangkok:
Getting to Koh Lanta by car is very easy either from Bangkok (850km) or Phuket (200km) just follow route No. 4 to about 50 km after Krabi to a place called Ban Hua Hin, here you will find the ferries to Koh Lanta depart. These car ferries do not have a timetable but they are departing every 15 minutes the first leave about 7 am and the last one will depart about 10 pm.

By Air:
Thai airways have daily flights from Bangkok to Krabi or Trang. In the high season it’s also possible to fly from Koh Samui to Krabi with Bangkok Airways.

By Train:
There are several overnight trains from Bangkok with comfortable sleepers arriving at Trang railway station before noon. From Trang there are many busses going straight to Koh Lanta several times a day, the last trip leaves around 3 pm.

From Krabi, there are two ways to get to the island either by minibus or express boat. There are busses leaving several times a day, the last one around 4 pm.

The two time daily express ferry leaves from the main pier in Krabi town, but departs only in the high season from Nov. till April. The boats leave 10.00 am and 13.30 pm.
